Actually that should have no problem running 10s in Denver.cgarb wrote:If it wouldn't run low 10's you have something seriously wrong or you live in Denver.

550ftlbs at 5000 rpm. 618hp at 6600rpm. Does the winner get a prize? And if so, are we using Price is Right rules?
Re: How much power.... comments...
I'd think so.redliner wrote: Think it will run low 10s? Best et with worn out 383/ mis-matched combo is 1.46, 10.75@125
I did a 10/1 comp 383 for street car at a bit more weight than yours with a 3.73 gear and it ran 10.54 @ 129
low 10s for you should be a walk in the park.

I made a couple changes to the above combo, instead of a Super Vic II and a 950 Demon, I have a fully ported Motown with the plenum mod from Speier Racing Heads and Will have a (very soon I hope) Whitener 1050. What do you guys think for power now? (Cam king says 630-650 @ 7000 with S.V. II and 950 carb) I wonder what would happen to the H.P. at 7500??? Any guesses... CamKing?? Re: How much power.... comments...
Here's my math: 628 HP @ 3200 pounds = 136 MPH. 1320 divided by 136 = 9.70.

Re: How much power.... comments...
My best pass is a 10.26 at 127.9...almost 128...lol. If you do 1320/127.9 it comes up with 10.32 as an et. Just a question what is that telling me? My car 60ft's harder then most mid to low 10 sec cars but just levels off after about 1000ft. More camshaft perhaps?
Re: How much power.... comments...
It tells me your car leaves and is efficient in its utilization of power. That formula is a jumping off point, good cars run on the other side of the formula. My idea of a good leaving car:
11.20 1.42 60 foot
10.20 1.30 60 foot
9.20 1.24 60 foot
11.20 1.42 60 foot
10.20 1.30 60 foot
9.20 1.24 60 foot
