Well, it was the Lunati rod's fault. That's what broke...lol.

I actually think the Wisco piston pin boss pulled out.

Piston would have been fine if the spiroloc didn't come out the side...lol. These destruction posts are educational and entertaining at times.

Usually a rod bearing gets burned up for whatever the reason and a rod bolt breaks. Then the rest of the rod and piston fall into the blender.

To me it looks like the rod tunnel is blue. So my question is if the pin boss failed first how does this then translate to the rod bearing failure?

Good head work on someone else plaything, blue rod B's, stroked piston, all torn up, having a good time till got hurt? Sounds familiar? Hmmm..... Dont try to "figure out how" If you play the game long enough someone is bound to get hurt

I've got one that looks just the same.

Too tight in the bore , got stuck, broke the rod.

OK so what was the question again?

A shitty build?

Builder is pretty good. Not his first rodeo but getting better. Tune may have been a contributing factor. I speced the timing and he claimed it ran better with more. The compression and quench were both far from optimum. Which is most likely the reason it needed more timing. I also gave rpm shortblock limit which was ummm not followed to the letter. Not bashing by any means but a tough learning curve for him. Thanks, Charlie

Just trying to figure out the quote under his pic on last page,"Recent R&D ( Race em and Destroy em) from a set of my heads. Way before flowbench. N.A. street stuff. Working on it M.T. Thanks, Charlie"
I always ran small cube nitrous engines from 700 to 900 horse, 7000 to 8000 rpm I just never broke anything, so is that because I didn't port my heads correctly?

Sorry Gary you didn't get it. That wasn't intended as being critical of you. This post was going a little sideways so I thought I would give my contribution, my comment was just a little sexual innuendo LOL
