Re: SBC Afr Heads
I suspect buying heads from Chad would solve the new OTB problem.
So much to do, so little time...

Around here we use "Meta-lax" which takes care of that need to "take a set" issue.F-BIRD'88 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 2:37 am Maybe the cylinder head manufacturers that want to deliver a head that has a advantage would
pre age the heads (run them on a running engine) then touch up the valve job before shipping.
Now the head has done its moving around and is now a more stable constant better performing head.
Is there a market for this?
Is there a method to "pre age" the new head that is not actual running it on a running engine but achieves the same thing? Say bolt the head to a jig and expose it to heat and pressure and vibration and water circulation over many cycles/time to PRE stabilize it by simulating the effect of running it on a running engine.
A power advantage? A power advantage that people will pay for to get a better cylinder head?

Yep I have now "almost" heard it all... Bring a build in and in 2 years it might have taken a set? WOWWalter R. I posted elsewhere that after installing 16 larger, interlocking seats in my ZL1 heads, the head surfaces showed 0.006" -0.009" warpage. I had the Meta-Lax process carried out, then sent them for measuring and skimming. The shop reported a max distortion of 0.003".
