.... this would be an "Ideal Run" that would show 650 Peak HP with a very flat TQ and HP Curve
something to shoot for !

Here's how this all went down, my customer bought this engine from me years ago and it developed a leak, didn't leak on the dyno, but did in his car, so he sent it back to me for repair and wanted me to run it in my car to see if it would leak. Well when I lived in Colorado we did this same 496 650 drag test, it was on my YouTube channel, the results (10.50/124.5) were horrible due to the weather conditions, it always bothered me and here was my chance to redo the test. So we get it in my car and go to the track:

Pass # 1. 6.85 mild ck out pass
Pass # 2. Launch the car and comes on the bumper and I peddle it before the 60 foot clocks 6.44 @ 105xx 1.32 60
Pass# 3 Drive car out the roll into it 6.40 @ 107 xx after some tuning

We go back to the shop to tune the front shocks. Sunday we head up to the Concrete Palace XRP drag strip although we start out with 2880 DA.

Pass 1 6.22 108 1.34 60?
Pass 2 6.21 108 1.30 60 foot
Pass 3. 6.17 @ 108.8 1.31 60 foot

So I figured out my gear stack isn't right killing my 60 foots, my 1-2 gear change comes before the 60 foot clocks on the low RPM engine, and the crank is heavy, center counter weighted, you can tell. I thought I had some 94 inch roll out tires which would helped the 60 but they were actually 92.5. But all in all I was happy with the performance.

BTW the DA was 2050 when the 6.17 @ 108.8 came.

Impressive nice job.

What's interesting is Chooper Scott on here with his camaro ran that exact time in the 1/8 then ran 9.81 @134 but he is 400lb lighter #-o then you and made 665hp with his 434.

Why the short travel lifters with this build Mark?

I feel your pain, when I lived in Colorado all I looked at was the baro, when I moved to Texas I leaned to really only look at the humidity and grains of water, that's the killer in Texas. I can tell you this: What a blessing its been to have Xtreme Raceway Park to test at, the Concrete Palace I call it, its simply the best track on the planet, and lucky to have it to race at!

I still use the et program Larry gave to us speed talkers years ago to dial my car. Once I played with it on the traction factor, torque multiplication factor and aero factors to match what car was running according to time slips on some test days from then all I had to do was was change weather factors to current conditions and I can dial my car down to the hundredth pretty much dead on.
