e-85 fuel and aluminum fuel tank vs fiberglass tank

can anyone tell me will e-85 ruin spun aluminum fuel tanks// same question with fiberglass tank. thanks roger

When the alcohol absorbs moisture, you'll get corrosion in the aluminum tank. Having the tank anodized will remedy that.
E85 will have no effect on a fiberglass tank.

BGriff is correct.
Ethanol will have a negative effect on the following materials that might be found in the fuel system.
ABS
CPVC
LDPE
Polycarbonate
PVC
Nitrile rubber
Silicone
Tygon
Aluminum
Cast iron

Fiberglas is a composite using glass fiber and expoxy, ethanol will have no effect on epoxy.

well i was going to try e-85 to my old raceboat that has fiberglass tanks but found this site and has some test on fiberglass and e-85 fuel so looks like i will have to cut out glass tanks and put in stainless tanks is i want to run e-85
